Does APCC offer 24-hour emergency vet care in Dubai?

No. APCC does not operate a 24/7 emergency line, and our phones are answered during clinic hours only. This applies to registered and new clients alike.

If your pet has an emergency outside our opening hours, contact a 24-hour emergency vet in Dubai directly. We would rather tell you this plainly than have you lose time calling a clinic that cannot answer.

How quickly is an emergency case seen?

Emergency cases are assessed as soon as a veterinarian is available, and urgent cases are prioritised ahead of routine appointments. Actual waiting time varies with what is happening in the clinic that hour. Our doctors may already be in surgery or managing another emergency.

This is exactly why we ask you to call ahead on +971 4 321 2535. A two-minute phone call tells us your pet is coming and tells you whether a doctor is free right now.

What emergency diagnostics can APCC run in-house?

Our in-house laboratory returns most routine blood test results within 15 to 30 minutes. Specialised tests such as PCR typically take 45 to 60 minutes.

We also run in-house X-ray, urinalysis, blood pressure, and rapid tests for parvovirus, canine distemper, FeLV/FIV, giardia, and blood parasites. Same-visit results mean treatment decisions get made while your pet is still in the building, not the following day.

Which animals does APCC treat in an emergency?

Every veterinarian at APCC treats dogs and cats. Exotic pets are seen exclusively by Dr. Piotr, so please call ahead to confirm his availability before bringing an exotic patient in.

Beyond dogs and cats, we treat birds, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, turtles, tortoises, snakes, lizards, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, chickens, and other small rodents.

What emergency surgery facilities does APCC have?

APCC has three surgery rooms, the third dedicated to major surgeries. Our sterile operating suite handles complex procedures including orthopaedic, soft tissue, reconstructive, gastrointestinal, and urogenital surgery.

A separate room is dedicated to minor procedures and dental work under general anaesthetic. Anaesthetic protocols are customised to each patient, with infusion pumps delivering fluids and pain relief in controlled doses.

How much does an emergency vet in Dubai cost?

Emergency costs at APCC depend entirely on the case. It is difficult to quote before a veterinarian has examined your pet. As a general guide, a workup with initial diagnostics — blood tests or X-rays — typically starts from around AED 2,000.

Dr. Furkan and the team will talk you through expected costs after the initial assessment, before treatment proceeds. We do not work on commission, which means we recommend only the care your pet actually needs.

What counts as a pet emergency?

Bring your pet in immediately for difficulty breathing, collapse, seizures, or repeated vomiting. The same goes for a distended abdomen, inability to urinate, suspected poisoning, heavy bleeding, or trauma from a fall or road accident.

In Dubai’s summer, heat stroke is a genuine emergency. Heavy panting, drooling, wobbliness, or bright red gums after time outdoors need same-day attention. If you are unsure whether something qualifies, call us and describe what you are seeing.

Why choose APCC for emergency care in Umm Suqeim?

APCC was voted Favorite Clinic in the UAE at the 2022 Animalia Industry Pet Awards, and lead veterinarian Dr. Furkan Morgulle was named Favorite Vet Surgeon in 2021. We have cared for Dubai pets from our Umm Suqeim villa clinic since 2013.

Our in-house laboratory, X-ray, and three surgery rooms mean diagnosis and treatment happen in one place, in one visit. You will find us at Villa 113 Al Besheen St, Umm Suqeim 2, between Choitrams and Union Coop. Parking is directly in front of the clinic.
