Biography
About Dr Tinashe
I graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 2012 and began my career in small animal practice in Harare. I later moved to South Africa to complete my MSc in Veterinary Science at the University of Pretoria, where I also lectured in small animal ethology and welfare and worked in the clinical skills laboratory.
In 2018, I worked as a mixed animal veterinarian serving the local community outside Pretoria, before moving to Tygerberg Animal Hospital in Cape Town in 2019 and later continuing my career in small animal practice in Johannesburg.
I am a general practitioner with a particular interest in internal medicine and dentistry. Continuing education is an important part of my work, and I have attended both the London Vet Show and Singapore Vet Show multiple times to continue developing my knowledge and skills.

Testimonials
We visit Dr Tinashe, who is absolutely fantastic and so lovely with our cat and treats her with upmost love and care. Our cat is very anxious but he has a calm professional demeanour and takes the time to listen and explain everything to us thoroughly. Can’t recommend him enough!
Dr Tinashe is also superb – an optimist at heart, he provides hope in difficult situations.
Excellent pet care with expert caring veterinarians. Dr Tinashe is wonderful. He is calm, gentle, caring and highly accomplished. The only place I will take my cats.
I had already been taking my cat, Odin, to this clinic for some time, and I have always been extremely happy with the care they provide. The entire team is highly professional, knowledgeable and genuinely compassionate—from the veterinarians and nurses to the reception staff. Their prices are fair and transparent, and I have never felt that the clinic was commercially driven. They truly prioritize the animals’ wellbeing and always take the time to explain everything clearly.
More recently, they helped me prepare Odin for an international relocation. He is a 12-year-old cat with chronic kidney disease, so the entire process, with all the required protocols, documentation and medical considerations, was particularly stressful for me. The team was incredibly supportive, patient and understanding throughout every stage. They guided me through the procedures, made sure Odin was fit and properly prepared for the journey, and gave me enormous peace of mind during a very emotional time.
A very special thank-you to Dr Tanashe, Dr Piotr, all the nurses and the wonderful reception team for their professionalism, kindness and genuine human touch. Thanks to their help, Odin travelled safely and is now happy and settled in his new home.
We already miss you all! I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for excellent veterinary care from a team that truly cares about both animals and their owners.
